airOS Mobile
airOS Mobile is a tool for managing airMAX devices. It features status monitoring, offline firmware upgrades, antenna alignment and device installation using any Android smartphone.
Communication with device is done solely through HTTP(S) and access to devices on these ports is required.
Application layout is optimized for smartphone screens but will work on tablets too.
Install using airGateway Installer is supported for AC series devices only (starting with airOS v7.2)

Firmware upgrade
For firmware upgrade you have to upload valid firmware images to "/ubnt/airos/firmwares" directory on your Android's internal storage.
Configuration backup and sharing
Configuration backups will be stored in internal storage directory "/ubnt/airos/configs". Saved configs are compatible with airOS Web.
Device installation using airGateway Installer
For device installation you need an airGateway Installer and AC series device (airOS v7.2 and up) which is reset to default configuration and connected to airGateway's POE OUT port. Initial configuration is performed using templates.
airOS Mobile comes with these predefined templates:
- Access Point PtMP airMAX AC
- Access Point PtMP airMAX Mixed
- Access Point PtP
- Station PtMP
- Station PtP
User defined templates are stored in "/ubnt/airos/templates" directory. Example templates are attached.
Configuration Templates
Templates are airOS configuration files with a few additions.
Template files use tpl extension (for example: my_template.tpl).
HEADER
First line of the template is always the header. Header starts with airtpl magic and attributes with options in brackets.
Header example: airtpl(mode="merge" name="Station PtP" version="1")
Options:
mode=[merge,replace]
merge - template changes will be merged with configuration from device. All keys in template will override appropriate keys from device configuration.
replace - template content will replace device configuration. Temple should contain a complete configuration.
name - a name that will appear in template list
version - currently 1
ENTRIES
Template entry starts with question mark [?] followed by configuration key and options in brackets
Example: ?wireless.1.ssid(name="SSID" section="Basic wireless" default="ubnt")
Options:
name - option name that will be shown in configuration screen.
section - options are grouped in sections. To add different keys to the one section use the same section name.
default - default value for this key.
You may also add regular configuration entries that will not show up in configuration screen but will result in a final configuration.
